Cofidis Portugal with Les Bureaux du Coeur and CRESCER opened doors and welcomed two people in vulnerable situations. Atelier Holcnerova remodeled the 2 spaces at Cofidis headquarters in Lisbon and turned them into ready-to-live-in starting apartments. This project aims to reinforce commitment to diversity and inclusion and its another step in the fight against exclusion and awareness of social responsibility. Watch the reportage here

Habitacao Cofidis | Lisbon | 2023

The project consists of the transformation of two unused retail units within the Cofidis Portugal headquarters in Lisbon into fully furnished temporary housing units for people in emergency housing situations. The intervention explores how underutilized commercial spaces can be repurposed to respond to urgent social needs while contributing to more sustainable urban development.

Developed at the invitation of Cofidis Portugal, in collaboration with Bureaux du Cœur and CRESCER, the project provides safe, dignified, and functional living environments, offering the necessary conditions for residents to regain autonomy, access employment opportunities, and rebuild their lives.

The architectural strategy focused on spatial efficiency, clarity of layout, and adaptability, ensuring comfort within a minimal footprint. By reusing existing structures and minimizing material interventions, the project reduces construction waste and extends the lifecycle of the building. The initiative demonstrates how responsible use of corporate real estate can generate social value and contribute positively to the quality of urban life.
